Melissa Mowery has over 37 years of experience working in the social services field with diverse populations. She has coached Special Olympians, worked in a residential facility with mentally ill adults, and developed a therapeutic recreation program for male and female juvenile offenders. For the past 19 years Melissa was the Vice President for CAMBA’s HomeBase, a Homelessness Prevention Program, funded by the Department of Social Services in New York City. HomeBase is a homelessness prevention program offering a variety of services to keep households stably housed. HomeBase has 26 locations city-wide; targeting services to over 30,000 at-risk households annually at various stages of a housing crisis/transition. Melissa is a 2019 New York State Women in Human Services Hall of Fame member and outstanding performer in the field of Homelessness Prevention and International Presenter on Homelessness Prevention Programming. Currently, Melissa is the Sr. Vice President for HomeBase and responsible for CAMBA’s Refugee and Asylee Workforce Development programs providing low income people, immigrants, refugees, youth and others with employment, training, resettlement, financial counseling, and health and business development services.
